Waratah Members invited to New Sydney Uni Cat  Vet Centre

The Valentine Charlton Cat  Centre is a state of the art , purpose-built veterinary facility with on site specialists in a variety of disciplines including feline medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging and pathology.
We were greeted by Dr Jennie Churchill who is the Director of the Veterinary Science Foundation.
We were then introduced to Dr Julia Beatty who is head of small Animal medicine And Professor Geraldine Hunt who is the director of the University Veterinary Centre and who is also head of surgery.
Both Julia and Geraldine are interested in all aspects of feline medicine and were very happy to answer any questions we had.
The building incorporates large consulting and treatment room areas to facilitate increased students observation, a central doctors station nuclear suite for radioactive iodine treatment of cats with hyperthyroidism, a chemotherapy treatment ward, isolation wards and a tutorial room. It has environmentally sustainable features including movement detectors in the rooms that switch off lighting and air conditioning when unoccupied. The treatment rooms has been designed to accommodate four treatment pods, with overhead anaesthesia gas and electrical supply points, a dental treatment pod, a bathing facility and a clean pathology area.
And many more features no doubt this clinic is an excellent clinic with very caring Doctors .
By the way no dogs are allowed in the cat clinic we cannot have our feline patience up set.
Just Fabulous... so was the Italian meal some of us enjoyed afterwards... a great evening all the way around.
