Judging at Expo November 7th/8th/9th 2003 John has been involved in cat fancying since 1977 and registered his first prefix, IMPERATUS in 1978. Over the years John has bred Persians, Himalayans, Exotics, Siamese, Orientals, Burmese and British Shorthairs, granding cats in all but one breed. He became a LH judge in 1984 and a SH judge in 1990, progressing to All-Breed in 1993. He was Editor, NZ Cats, as early as 1980, completing the very first NZCF Yearbook and has held various positions within the NZCF including President of Franklin Cat Club, Life Member of Geyserland Cat Club, Standard of Points Officer, Northern Region Chairman and NZCF National President. He has judged throughout New Zealand and Australia, for the GCCF in England and Guest judged for CFA in the USA, his time in the USA bringing him into regular contact with breeds which are predominantly American based. As one of the founding Directors of CATZ Inc, John believes very strongly that CATZ Inc will help raise the awareness among breeders and exhibitors that there are indeed options and that we do not have to settle for anything but the very best in services and innovative cat fancying, believing that if you put PEOPLE first, the rest will follow with endeavour. John is currently President of the Nine Lives All Breeds Cat Club Inc. and licensed by CATZ Inc as an Accredited All-Breed Judge with Tutor status.
